People talk about enrichment a lot- myself included. But what are the types of enrichment available to our dogs? and how can we make sure they are getting all?

PHYSICAL ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
physical enrichment is taking our dogs for walks, allowing our dogs to dig or chase, etc⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
MENTAL⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
this is the are that most people focus on most when talking about enrichment. These are the puzzle games (kongs, etc), and scent games. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
SENSORY⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is petting or chewing type activities. Anything that works your dogs senses. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
SOCIAL ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is where your dog engages with other dogs or humans. Play dates or daycares are typical.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
ENVIRONMENTAL⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These are the adventure days for your dogs. The trip to a new park, walking up a hill, trying agility, etc⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It’s really important we include ALL 5 elements into our dogs life- don’t just focus on 1 or 2.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This week, challenge yourself to include all 5 types of enrichment into your dogs adventures with you and let me know how you get on.
